BEL AIR, Md. - Depsite forfeiting one doubles match and two singles matches, the Harford women's tennis team picked up a 5-4 win over the Camden County Cougars, Thursday afternoon inside the Harford Tennis Complex.

The Fighting Owls move to 2-0 on the season after the victory.

How It Happened
Down 3-0 in points due to its three forfeits, Harford needed to win five of the six available matches to come away winners. 

Doubles play started off the day, with the No. 2 pairing of Natalia Calvo-Herrera and Lianna Tillinghast earned an 8-2 win. The Fighting Owls would lose their No. 1 doubles match, meaning they would need to sweep singles to pick up the victory.

Harford turned their luck around in solo action, taking all four matches in straight sets. Alizee Ripolles sewed up No. 1 singles with a 6-0, 6-2 defeat of her Camden opponent, while Calvo Herrera (6-2, 6-1) and Tillinghast (6-0, 6-3) earned their second victory of the day. That left sophomore Paula Martinez at No. 4 singles, who took down her opposition 6-1, 6-1 to allow the Fighting Owls to come out on top for the day.
