BEL AIR, Md. – The Fighting Owls returned home for the first time in exactly one month, dropping both games of a doubleheader to the CCBC-Catonsville Cardinals, Saturday afternoon inside the Harford Sports Complex.
Game One
Harford struggled to contain the Catonsville offense, opening the door for the Cardinals to score 13 runs in the first four innings.
Harford finally got on the board late, as
Rilee Fazenbaker drove home
Amanda Cliffe before the Cardinals retired the side.
Fazenbaker led Harford at the dish with a pair of hits and an RBI.
Lexi Buchanan took the loss on the mound but also tallied two hits.
Paige Blaker,
Paige Clark and Cliffe chipped in one base knock each.
Game Two
The Fighting Owls performed much better in game two, tallying a season high 12 hits before falling 17-7 to the Cardinals.
Harford went toe-toe with their MD JUCO foe early and even tied the game at 4-4 in the fourth. Catonsville flipped the game on its head from there, outscoring the Fighting Owls 13-3 across the final three innings.
Centerfield
Paige Blaker had a career day, going 3-for-5 with two RBI and a stolen base.
Lexi Buchanan (two RBI),
Paige Clark (one RBI), and
Amanda Cliffe all contributed two hits to the cause.
Sarah Dudick earned one hit and stole two bases.
Harford dips to 0-11 after today's defeats.
