BEL AIR, Md. – Harford redshirt sophomore Ethan Kiple pitched a complete game three-hitter, boosting the Fighting Owls to a 9-1 victory over the ASA (NY) Avengers, Saturday evening at the Harford Sports Complex.

Kiple dominated long stretches of the contest, allowing just a trio of hits and one earned run in the third. The Sykesville, Maryland native spread 12 strikeouts across seven innings and helped his own cause with a two-run homer in the bottom of the second.

Despite the Fighting Owls tallying just seven hits, five of them came as extra base knocks. Their offensive effort was led by Zach Smith, who mashed a grand slam in the fourth. Redshirt freshman infielder Patrick Campbell also had an excellent day at the plate, collecting a double and a triple in three at-bats.

With the victory, Harford is now 23-8-1.
