Fighting Owls Split with Lackawanna

BEL AIR, Md. - Harford took to the road for a doubleheader with Lackawanna, taking game one before losing the second to the Falcons on Sunday.

The Fighting Owls sit at 24-9-1 after today's games.

Game 1 (Harford 7, Lackawanna 4)
Both teams picked up two runs in the first inning, but Joe Quelch's two-run blast in the second put Harford ahead 4-2.

After allowing the Fighting Owls to plate one in the fourth via bases loaded walk, Lackawanna responded with a two-run homer of their own to pull within one.

Harford went back up two in the fifth after Matt Rivera's double scored Andrew Sicinski for a 6-4 advantage, then another bases loaded walk in the sixth boosted the lead to 7-4. Hunter Bell (4 IP) sealed the deal in the late innings, allowing just two hits over the last six outs to retire the Falcons.

Eight different Fighting Owls collected one hit each, while seven scored one run a piece. Brayden Parr and Quelch led the men in blue with two RBI each.

On the mound, Jeremy Lapp (5-0) earned the win as a starter. He struck out five over three innings.

Game 2 (Lackawanna 11, Harford 1)
Lackawanna's Kyle Scott tossed a no-hitter over five innings, silencing the Harford bats for the first time this season.

The Fighting Owls managed to score the first run of the off a wild pitch in the first. From there, Harford earned just three walks the rest of the game.

Lackawanna did most of its damage with seven-run second inning. An error and wild pitch in the third, RBI-double in the fourth and a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the fifth completed the mercy rule victory for the Falcons.
