BEL AIR, Md. - The postseason spotlight proved not to be too bright for Harford men's lacrosse, as they routed the Anne Arundel Riverhawks by a 23-9 margin in its Region 20 semifinal contest, Wednesday afternoon inside Harford Stadium
The top-seeded Fighting Owls utilized an 8-0 first quarter to run away with the game quickly. Things would not get much better for the No. 4 seed Riverhawks, as the men in blue outscored them 7-3 in the second to take a 15-3 lead into the break.
A relaxed Harford side picked up a trio of goals to match Anne Arundel's three in the third, then the Fighting Owls closed out the fourth with five more scores to cruise to a victory.
Cayden Onagi led the attack, scoring six goals while assisting a pair. Sophomore
Caden Cote had a complete game with three scores, five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
On defense,
Peyton Winters topped all players with five caused turnovers.
Jason Roland made three saves in the first half, while
Aden Walsh closed out the final 30 with five saves.
The Fighting Owls now stand at 7-0 on the year.
