TEMPE, Ariz. - Harford freshman women's tennis student-athlete
Chloe Certain has been named the
UTR ITA Player of the Week, as announced by the ITA on Wednesday.
Certain is one out to 10 student-athletes – five men and five women – to be honored this week.
The Obernai, France native competed in No. 1 doubles and either No. 1 or 2 singles this week. Certain collected three singles wins,, including a huge straight-set victory over Kutztown University which helped the Fighting Owls defeat the Bears, 4-3.
Certain also defeated Mercer County's and West Chester's top singles players in straight sets. In doubles play, she finished 3-1 on the week.
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) is the governing body of college tennis, overseeing men's and women's varsity tennis at all levels – NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and Junior/Community College.
Harford women's tennis is set to cap off its season when the Fighting Owls travel to Mesa, Arizona for the NJCAA National Championships. The tournament will be held from Saturday, May 1 until Wednesday, May 5.
