BEL AIR, Md. - A late Essex goal proved to be the difference on a rainy Thursday evening, as the Knights escaped with a 2-1 defeat of Harford inside the Harford Sports Complex.
Kara Dietrich carried the load on offense for the Knights, scoring both goals in the 43rd and 86th minute. Her second strike came with Harford down to 10 due to injuries.
Trailing 1-0, the Fighting Owls finally struck in the 70th on a lofty cross by
Lauren Westbrook that found
Rylee Kluge's left foot. Kluge one-timed the ball into the right side of the net for what will go down as one of Harford's best goals of the season.
Harfors is now 2-1 (1-1 MD JUCO) for the year.
