Catonsville Bests Harford in Physical Bout

BEL AIR, Md. - In a game which saw 33 fouls, four yellow cards and two late red cards, it was the Catonsville Cardinals who managed to best Harford 4-1 on Tuesday evening under the lights of the Harford Sports Complex.

After a chippy opening 20 minutes, it was Catonsville who struck first on offense to take a 1-0 lead. Neither team scored again in the first, although the aggression would ramp up with one yellow card dished out to each side before the half time horn sounded.

Tyrik Trotman finally broke the scoring drought for Harford in the 59th to tie the game at 1-1, however an own goal eight minutes later pushed Harford back behind the Cardinals. Williams Yami of Catonsville doubled their lead five minutes later, then another score from the Cardinals in the 83rd put the scored at 4-1. Red cards awarded to Catonsville in the 85th and 89th gave Harford late hope, but the men in blue were unable to take advantage of its nine-man opposition.

Harford is 3-2 (3-2 MD JUCO) after the defeat.
