FLORENCE, S.C. - Mason Hicks collected his third home run in three days, as the Fighting Owls glided to a 9-4 over NJCAA DII powerhouse Catawba Valley on Saturday afternoon.
Harford and Catawba trades blows through the first four innings, with the Fighting Owls coming out of the fray with a 4-2 lead thanks to the bat of
Joe Quelch. The redshirt freshman collected a solo home run, stole home, and hit a two-RBI double in the opening fourth innings.
Catawba pulled within one run in the sixth, but a bases loaded sacrifice fly from
Blake Mayberry extended the lead back to two runs. After a walk filled them once more, Hicks would step up to the plate and crush a pitch over the outfield wall for a grand slam to put the contest away for good.
Harford remains undefeated (3-0) with today's victory.
