VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - A walkoff home run by Bryant & Stratton stuck Harford with its first defeat of 2022, as the Fighting Owls fell 8-7 to the Bobcats.
Harford scored a quartet of runs in the second, only to see its lead evaporate when Bryant & Stratton scored seven over the next three frames. A two-run homer by
Joe Quelch pulled the Fighting Owls back within in a run in the sixth, and an RBI-single from
Mason Hicks tied the game at 7-7.
Alex Margot (0-1), who had been solid through two innings of relief, came back in for the seventh inning to force extras. After picking up a pair of outs to start the frame, the redshirt freshman lefty gave up a solo shot to seal the game for the Bobcats.
After the loss, Harford is now 3-1.
