BEL AIR, Md. - No. 2 Harford men's lacrosse welcomed No. 5 Onondaga to Bel Air for the Fighting Owls home opener, falling 12-11 to the Lazers on Sunday.
Harford seemed destined for victory midway through the fourth when they took an 11-7 lead with 7:55 left to go. The Lazers scored four straight from there, including a trio of goals in the final 1:35 to send the game into sudden death overtime. After both teams traded chances in the extra period, an Ian Owens strike with 28 seconds left in OT sealed the win for the visitors.
The Fighting Owls fall to 0-1 to start the season.
