BEL AIR, Md. - Harford mercy ruled CCBC-Essex 12-1 on Tuesday evening to earn a sweep of the Knights and remain unblemished in Maryland JUCO Conference play.
Braedon Karpathios (1-0) dominated on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings.
Joe Clancy appeared in the fifth in relief, striking out three to finish off the Knights for good.
On offense, Harford plated a pair of runs in the opening two frames then busted the game wide open with an eight-run fourth. Five of the Fighting Owls eight runs in the inning came via wild pitch or bases loaded walk.
Blake Mayberry and
Jeremiah Guzman led Harford at the dish with two doubles apiece. Karpathios also chipped in a base knock and two RBI to his own cause.
The Fighting Owls are now 12-2 (6-0 MD JUCO) after Tuesday's doubleheader.
