BEL AIR, Md. - Joe Quelch and
Ehi Okojie collected three hits each, as Harford blasted the Mercer County Vikings 15-3 on Saturday afternoon.
Quelch launched a pair of home runs and one double in the contest en route to five RBI. Okojie had three base knocks, including an RBI single that plated
Trey Cruz in the first.
A wild pitch and Okojie's single put Harford up 2-0 in the opening frame. Merer tied the game in the second, but
Joe Quelch would go deep to score three and
Blake Mayberry followed that with a solo strike to left to regain the lead. Harford continued to tack on runs in the frame, as
Jeremiah Guzman doubled to drive home two more and
Braedon Karpathios singled to bring him in before the side was retired.
Quelch belted his second long ball of the day in the third that scored
Jay Kalieta as well, while a solo homer by Karpathios in the fourth rounded out Harford's home run hitters in game one.
Lenny Montesano and Mayberry also drove in one run during the fourth off singles to drive Harford's run total to 15 in the opener.
Harford improves to 15-2 after today's win.
