ROCKVILLE, Md. - The Fighting Owls hit the road for a pair of games against Montgomery, defeating the Raptors 6-3 in game one on Saturday.
Harford scored an early 3-0 lead thanks to an error and a two-RBI single via
Lena Wondolowski. An RBI single by
Jess Bouthet in the fourth and Montgomery errors in the fifth and sixth doubled the Fighting Owls advantage. The Raptors managed to pull three back on a base clearing double in the bottom sixth, but Harford's defense held them hitless for the remainder of the contest to earn the win.
Mackenzie Burton (3-2) picked up the victory, allowing no runs and just two hits while tossing a half dozen strikeouts.
The Fighting Owls moved to 5-7 (3-2 MD JUCO) with the victory.
