BEL AIR, Md. - The Fighting Owls utilized the mercy rule to defeat the Prince George's Owls, dropping their conference 20-5 and 17-6 on Sunday afternoon.
Harford jumps to 20-4 after the sweep.
Game 1 (Harford 20, Prince George's 5)
The Fighting Owls slammed the Owls for 20 runs on 16 hits, headlined by a 13-run effort in the third. Nine Harford batters finished with a hit, including a 3-for-4 day by
Joe Suarez.
Andrew Sicinski homered and drove home eight runs, while
Tyler Blittersdorf collected four RBI on two hits.Â
Jeremiah Guzman,
Nick Gaitan, and
Trey Cruz also had multi-hit performances.
Austin Biddle (2-0) struck out five in four innings to earn the victory from the hill.
Game 2 (Harford 17, Prince George's 6)
A pair of eight-run frames powered Harford past PG in game two. The other Owls walked 11 batters and were hampered by three errors and a pair of wild pitches.
Fueling the Fighting Owl offense were
Brody Levin (2-for-3, 3 RBI),
Trey Cruz (2-for-3, 2 RBI) and
Bobby Spencer (2-for-3, 2 RBI).
Jay Kalieta also impressed with two hits and two stolen bases.
Brendan Erka (3-0) was the lucky winnter of Harford's big day on offense after getting the nod to start.
John Silder (1 IP) blanked the Owls in the fourth in just four batters.
