BEL AIR, Md. - Lena Wondolowski's RBI single to right field ended game one in dramatic fashion, as the Fighting Owls flexed their muscle in a 9-8 victory over the Monroe Mustangs.
Wondolowski teamed up with
Jess Bouthet and
Emily Curry to plate eight of Harford's nine runs. Curry had three hits and three RBI, all of which came on a three-run blast to left field in the third. Bouthet finished 4-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI, with her second long ball of the day tying the game before Wondolowski walked it off three batters later.
Mackenzie Burton (7-3) earned a much deserved victory from the circle. The freshman righty struck out eight batters and allowed just four earned runs over 162 pitchers.
Harford improves to 14-10 on the season with the victory.
