CUMBERLAND, MD - Harford men's basketball traveled to Allegany College of Maryland for their PBA Tournament to face the hosts and the #3 Niagara County Thunder Wolves. Niagara ended the 2022-23 season 30-3 after advancing to the NJCAA Division II quarterfinals. Despite tremendous effort the Fighting Owls would head home with two losses and a 1-2 overall record on the season.
Game One: Harford 80 - Allegany 87 (OT)
The first game of the weekend turned out to be a battle between the conference rivals. Allegany took a slight lead into halftime up 33-30, and Harford managed to respond with a 42-39 second half performance, forcing overtime. At the end of the final period, Allegany would emerge with a seven-point advantage and the win.
Jadyn Williams would lead the scoring for the Fighting Owls with 15 points going 3-9 from three-point range.
Ty Williams would contribute 13 points on the day shooting 6-11 from the floor. As a team, Harford would shoot 37% and sink 21-25 free throws.Â
Game Two: Harford 76 - Niagara 81
The teams entered halftime evenly matched at 36 points. Niagara would manage a five-point advantage in the second half to seal the win, despite Harford's strong team performance. Five players would tally double-digit points, lead by
Donovan Miller's 17.
Paul Mason would contribute 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals to the effort going 5-10 from three. As a team, Harford shot 41% from the floor and 10-22 from three-point range.Â
