NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Fighting Owls traveled to Monroe College over the weekend to face the Mustangs in an NJCAA Division I contest. Historically Monroe has dominated this matchup, with Harford's only win coming in 2017. That dominance would prevail, despite a great effort by the visitors, and the Fighting Owls would come away from the contest downed 75-88.
There were three lead changes throughout the game, the most exciting coming at the 6-minute mark when
Paul Mason would explode off the floor for a dunk to put the Fighting Owls up 70-68. Throughout the second half of the game Harford would bring the game within 3 points eight different times as the Mustangs attempted to pull away and put an end to the contest. The last five minutes would see Monroe outscore the Fighting Owls 15-5, solidifying Harford's defeat.
Chandler Johnson shone the brightest for the Fighting Owls going 7-13 from three-point range. He would contribute 29 points to the team effort, along with 2 steals and 3 assists.
Paul Mason had 11 points and 5 rebounds on the night, while
Jadyn Williams lead the team in rebounds wtih 7.
