Harford Takes All in Howard Tri Match

COLUMBIA, MD - In a commanding display of skill and teamwork, Harford Community College volleyball team continued their winning streak by defeating Community College of Beaver County and Howard Community College in straight sets. Harford's impressive record now stands at 7-2 overall and 4-0 in their conference.

Game One

The first set saw Harford Community College seize control early, securing a convincing 25-18 victory. Laura Piva, Gianna Braxton, and Kaja Szuba were instrumental in Harford's success, combining for an impressive 31 kills during the match. Harford's Morgan Barnett orchestrated the offense with 33 assists. The second set mirrored the first, with Harford claiming a 25-10 win. Community College of Beaver County struggled to break through Harford's solid defense and respond effectively to their powerful offensive plays. The third set also went in favor of Harford, as they clinched the match with a 25-15 victory. Harford's players continued to showcase their efficiency, hitting at an impressive .385 percentage in the final set. Julia Hudson played a key role in the defensive aspect with 11 digs, ensuring Harford's control of the match.

Harford Community College outperformed their opponents in nearly every statistical category. They recorded a total of 44 kills, 5 aces, and 17 blocks, underscoring their dominance. In contrast, Community College of Beaver County struggled to find scoring opportunities, managing only 14 kills and 5 aces.

The third set was another closely fought contest, with Harford ultimately triumphing 26-24 to secure the clean sweep. Kaja Szuba and Gianna Braxton provided valuable support for Harford's offense, combining for 12 kills in the set.

Statistically, Harford Community College outperformed Howard Community College in various categories, including total kills, aces, and blocks. Harford recorded 39 kills, 65 aces, and 13 blocks throughout the match, highlighting their well-rounded performance. Howard managed 28 kills, 20 aces, and 5 blocks.
