Harford Shines in BCCC Tri Match

BALTIMORE CITY, MD - Harford Community College's volleyball team continued their impressive run in the 2023 season, securing a convincing 3-0 victory over Fashion Institute and a 3-0 victory against Baltimore City CC during a tri match at BCCC.

Game One - Harford vs FIT

In the first set, Harford got off to a strong start, winning 25-21. Their well-coordinated offense was led by Laura Piva, who recorded 12 kills during the match. Fashion Institute of put up a spirited fight but couldn't match Harford's intensity. The second set saw the Fighting Owls maintaining their momentum, with a remarkable 25-7 win. Harford's offensive prowess was on full display, as they recorded 15 kills in this set alone. Fashion Institute of Technology struggled to contain Harford's attacks, resulting in a significant point difference. The third set concluded the match with a 25-17 victory for the visitors. Kaja Szuba and Damilola Fapohunda contributed 6 kills each during the match.

Statistically, Harford Community College dominated the match, registering a total of 32 kills, 17 aces, and 48 blocks, illustrating their well-rounded performance. Fashion Institute of managed 11 kills, 3 aces, and 7 blocks.

Morgan Barnett orchestrated Harford's offense with 25 assists, and a team defensive effort ensured that Fashion Institute of Technology had limited opportunities.
