ROCKVILLE, MD - In their first MDJUCO matchup of the season, the Harford volleyball team demonstrated their strength by defeating Montgomery College in straight sets with scores of 25-18, 25-18, and 25-20. Harford's well-rounded performance on the court secured a decisive victory.
The Fighting Owls set the tone early in the first set, winning it with a score of 25-18. Both teams displayed solid offensive and defensive efforts, but Harford's attack, led by
Kaja Szuba and
Laura Piva with 9 kills each, proved to be the difference. The second set followed a similar pattern, with Harford once again winning 25-18. Harford's effective blocking and serving, combined with precise kills, put them ahead in this set. In the final set, the Fighting Owls continued their impressive performance, securing a 25-20 victory. The Raptors fought hard, but balanced play, including 15 kills and strong serving, allowed Harford to maintain control and secure the three-set victory.
