Keyser, W.Va. – Harford women's basketball secured a convincing 72-56 victory over WVU Potomac State College on Saturday, improving 3-3 this season and 2-1 in Maryland Juco Athletic Conference/Region 20 play.
The Fighting Owls put together a strong all-around performance, fueled by a stifling defense and a well-balanced offensive attack, as three of their five starters finished with double-digit points.
Sophomore
Madison Nimmo (C. Milton Wright H.S.) led Harford with 23 points on 7-for-15 shooting overall (6-7 threes, 3-4 free throws). She also added eight rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Sophomore
Eshe Knox (Western H.S.) finished with a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds - all defensive - and two assists shy of a triple-double.
Freshman
Taaliah Todd (Barrie, Ontario, Canada) had 12 points (7-16 shooting overall) and chipped in five boards.
Harford started strong, establishing a 36-24 halftime lead, hitting on 14-38 (36.8%) shots.
The defense held Potomac State to just 25% (9-36) shooting in the first half.
The second half saw Potomac State attempt a rally, but, Harford's depth and composure allowed them to close out the game and leave the Mountain State with a 15-point victory.
Harford's bench outscored the Catamounts 17-3.
