Men's Basketball: Perfect Peet, Fighting Owls Down Green Terror

Bel Air, Md. -- Harford men's basketball won its second straight game on Saturday, beating McDaniel College JV 82-44 in front of a home crowd at APG Federal Credit Union Arena. Kristofer Peet (North County H.S.) hit all seven shots he took in route to a tying for a game-high 15 points.

"The goal today was just to be the best version of ourselves," said Harford head coach Solomon Zurier. "And keep working on how to play better as a team and how to grow as a team."

Harford (5-7, 2-2 Region 20) did not trail at all and started the game on a 20-5 run. By halftime, the advantage had grown to 21 to take a 44-23 lead into the break.

Peet scored 13 of his 15 points in the first half, which included one three.

"[Kristofer Peet] was awesome in the first half," Zurier said. "He did a good job of leading us today. He's been great all year."

The Fighting Owls shot high 58.3% from the floor overall (second best game this season) and a season-high 47.8% (11-23) from behind the arc.

Elisha Brown (Bowie, Md.) also had 15 points on 6-for-11 shooting (3-5 three pointers). He also had seven rebounds.

"Elisha had an awesome game today," Zurier said. "He really showed what he can do when he's locked in."

Emanuel Ortiz (Delmar, Del.) finished with 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor and went 3-for-7 from three.

Every member of Harford's 11-man roster registered a basket in the win.

Incredibly, the Fighting Owls committed just five turnovers, while forcing McDaniel into 18.

"We still have to take care of the ball better," Zurier said. "And definitely [need to] work on rebounding the ball better and not give up easy ones. Overall, I think the guys did a good job today. I'm really proud of them."

Harford hits the road on Wednesday to take on Baltimore City Community College. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
