Bel Air, MD - The Harford Fighting Owls volleyball team continued its dominance in regional competition with another 3-0 victory over the Chesapeake College Skipjacks. The Fighting Owls have yet to lose a set this season. Sophomore,
Laura Piva led Harford with 17 kills and added 5 aces and 8 digs. Piva has been averaging 15 kills per game through 5 games this season.
Morgan Barnett directed the Harford attack with 34 assists and 8 aces. Newcomers
Karen Jimenez and
Katalina Serna contributed heavily in the win. Jimenez added 8 kills and 10 digs in an all around effort. Serna chipped in 6 kills for the Harford attack.
Chesapeake fell behind early losing the first two sets, 25-9 and 25-8. In the third set, the Skipjacks challenged the Fighting Owls but fell 25-16. Harford looks to continue their winning ways as they travel to Allegany College of Maryland on Saturday. Looking ahead in the schedule, Harford travels to the College of Southern Maryland on Tuesday in a rematch of last season's region championship. Last season the match went to an exciting 5 set match with Harford pulling out the victory in the decisive 5th set.
