February 20 vs. Delaware Tech

In a tightly contested match up at APG Federal Credit Union Arena, Harford used an 11-6 over the last three minutes to send its sophomores off with a win in their final home game.

"This win feels great," said head coach Solomon Zurier. "All the credit to the sophomores. We only had eight turnovers tonight and when we don't turn the ball over, our players are talented and can make plays."

The game was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams scoring 30 points in the first half, setting the stage for an intense second half.

Harford relied on a well-rounded team effort, with Jeremiah Barnes (Rock Creek Christian Academy) leading the way with 17 points, including four three-pointers. Dorian Credle (Springfield, Va.) added 15 points and three steals, while sophomore Aaron Redman (C. Milton Wright) chipped in 10 points.

Harford's defense proved crucial, forcing 18 turnovers and converting them into 20 points. Sophomore Amare Curtis (Washington, D.C.) led the team with six assists and four steals, but his defensive presence loomed larger in the second half for Delaware Tech. 

Drew Zimmerman, Del Tech's hottest shooter in the first half, scored just two points in the second half, as Curtis blanketed him after the break. Zimmerman shot just 1-for-7 overall and was 0-for-3 on three pointers in the second half. 

"I told the guys at halftime that I was going to do my job to get stops and guard [Zimmerman]," Curtis said. "When we play defense as a team, we're pretty good."

In the second half, Harford's improved three-point shooting (50%) and clutch free-throw performance (11-of-14) allowed them to edge past Delaware Tech. Despite trailing at times, they maintained composure and sealed the win down the stretch.

February 22 vs. College of Southern Maryland

The Fighting Owls won consecutive games for just the third time this season after taking down Southern Maryland 82-55 last Saturday on the road. 

Showcasing its offensive depth and defensive prowess, Harford stormed to a 47-28 halftime lead and never looked back.

Sophomore Nicholas Kazakos (Perry Hall) led Harford with 14 points, five rebounds, and two steals, while Credle and Redman each contributed 13 points.

Curtis added 10 points and a game-high eight assists, helping distribute the ball effectively.

Harford shot 48.3% from the field and hit 8-of-24 from three-point range.

On the defensive end, Harford forced 19 turnovers and converted them into 18 points. They held Southern Maryland to just 34.4% shooting and dominated the boards, outrebounding them 38-31.

Despite a strong effort from Brandon Estep and Andre Sheppard, who each scored 14 points, Southern Maryland struggled to find consistent offense.

Harford's bench contributed significantly, outscoring Southern Maryland's bench 23-2. Their second-half efficiency and disciplined play ensured they maintained control, capping off a strong road victory.

Although the Fighting Owls dropped their regular season finale 76-63 on the road against Chesapeake College, the season continues next week with the regional tournament.
