Carson Kalama

    Offensive Assistant
Carson Kalama enters his third season as an offensive assistant. Since joining the Fighting Owls Men’s Lacrosse program, the team has appeared in the NJCAA National Championship tournament in 2022, and recently won the 2023 NJCAA Championship. Kalama attended Salisbury University on Maryland’s Eastern Shore and received a Bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2017.  He was a four-year standout player at the attack position, playing for Hall of Fame coach Jim Berkman. During his time as a Seagull, the program won back-to-back Division III National Championships in 2016 and 2017.  He was named the 2017 Most Outstanding Player at the National Championship Game and earned two All-American titles while at Salisbury. In addition, Kalama is currently the number five all time goal leader (200) at Salisbury, as well as the number nine all time points leader (256). Prior to joining the Fighting Owls, Kalama coached club lacrosse at the high school level for Upper Chesapeake Lacrosse Club. ?Kalama is a 2013 graduate of Bel Air High School where he was a four-year Varsity starter for the Men’s Lacrosse and Men’s Soccer teams. He earned many accolades in both sports, including High School All-American (Lacrosse – 2011 & 2012, Soccer – 2012), and was named All-State and  All-County teams for multiple years. He still holds the titles of leading goal scorer at Bel Air High School in both soccer and lacrosse.  During high school, Kalama played for the Baltimore Crabs Club Lacrosse team. ?Kalama currently resides in Forest Hill, Maryland, and is employed at KPMG in Baltimore, where he works as a Manager in their Audit practice.  He became a Certified Public Accountant in 2020.  His sister, Addie Kalama, was named Head Coach of the Harford Community College Women’s Lacrosse team in November 2023.
