5865Wheeler transitions into his fourth year as the head coach of the Harford volleyball program after a successful first three seasons.

In 2017, Wheeler helped lead the Fighting Owls to a 13-16 record. Harford would finish out the regular season strong, winning five of their last eight games. Two players would earn All-Conference honors under his watch.

2016 would see Wheeler lead Harford to a 21-8 record, tying the program record for wins set back in 2013. Three Fighting Owls earned All-Conference honors.

Wheeler took over the reigns in 2015 and led the team to a 10-2 MD JUCO record, good for second place in the conference. The Fighting Owls earned a hard-fought five-set victory over rival Hagerstown on the road in the beginning of the season to help snap an end of the year tie in the conference standings.

Sophomore setter Morgan Tennant earned First-Team All-MD JUCO under Wheeler’s guidance. Tennant set the single-season school record for assists with 677 while also leading the nation in service aces per set. Braquelle Horton and Tiyana Bumbray also earned All-MD JUCO honors, tying a school record for the most student-athletes on the all-conference list.

In 2015, the Fighting Owls advanced to the NJCAA District Tournament for the third time in the last four seasons.

Wheeler served as an assistant coach during the Fighting Owls rise to success in the 2012 & 2013 seasons. He assisted former head coach Christy Callahan to a 38-17 record and a pair of NJCAA Region XX Championships.
