lambrosaction1
BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford women's soccer team received national recognition recently in two national preseason polls. The Fighting Owls earned a No. 4 ranking in the NCSAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) Poll while garnering a No. 5 ranking in the NJCAA Poll.

Head coach Jason Muffoletto returns 13 student-athletes from last year's Region XX and District H Champion squad that went 19-3-1 and won a match at the national tournament for the first time in program history. The Fighting Owls are the only team in MD Juco, Region XX and District H to appear on either preseason sheet. Harford is also one of just five teams east of the Mississippi River to receive votes.

Among the 13 returnees on the 2010 campaign are sophomores Beth Lambros and Erin Lynn, who combined for 50 goals, 35 assists, 135 points and nine game-winning goals during their rookie season. Lambros, who led the team with 30 goals (6 GWG) and 73 points, was recognized on the NJCAA All-American First-Team last season, while Lynn tallied 20 goals, a team-best 22 assists while landing on the National Tournament All-Tournament Team.

The Fighting Owls open the 2010 season on Friday, Aug. 27 at 4 p.m. against Gloucester CC. The contest will take place at Harford Stadium, where the Fighting Owls boast a 10-0-1 record in their last 11 games.
