Eller Earns 100th Win With DH Sweep

BEL AIR, Md. - Harford baseball head coach Tom Eller guided his Fighting Owl team to a doubleheader sweep of Roxbury on Saturday. The two victories gave Eller his 99th and 100th career victories.

Eller, the fifth year skipper for Harford, has his Fighting Owls off to a 17-6 start, his second best in his five-year career. The Fighting Owls are 13-1 at home and have won 16 of their last 18 on his guidance.

Harford 11, Roxbury 1
Harford jumped on Roxbury early and scored five runs in the sixth to end the game early. The game-ending run scored on Matt Logullo's single deep in the hole at shortstop.

James Wilson and Nick Octavi each collected three hits in the win. Wilson collected three RBIs and a double, while Octavi scored twice, knocked in one and stole a career-high four bases.

Pete Harbach had a pair of singles, including a two-run single in the sixth.

Ryan Neukam earned his first career victory, allowing one run on three hits in four innings.

Harford 13, Roxbury 2
The Fighting Owls scored 13 runs on just five hits in the win. The fifth hit, a walk-off grand slam by Christian Wolfe, ended the game in the sixth and gave Eller his milestone victory.

The Fighting Owls earned 12 walks and four hit batsmen in the win. Harford left the bases loaded in the first, and were held scoreless in the second as well, but jumped out to a 5-1 lead after four innings. The team scored eight runs to end the game in the sixth.

Wolfe reached base four times in his five plate appearances, scored twice and knocked in four. Mike Solomon singled home two in the fourth to put the game away.

Jonathan Castro stole four bases in game two. Overall on the day, Harford stole 17 bases.

The Fighting Owls take on Prince George's on Tuesday on the road before returning home to face Potomac State in a doubleheader on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
