KEYSER, W.Va. - The most successful season in Harford baseball history came to an end on Sunday that the Region XX Tournament. The Fighting Owls finished with a 44-13 record, the most in the history of Harford Athletics.
The Fighting Owls trailed 14-11 going into the ninth inning of the suspended winner's bracket game from Saturday. Harford eventually lost to the host Potomac State Catamounts 15-11.
Harford then had to play in the consolation bracket championship game against No. 4 Anne Arundel. The Fighting Owls fell behind early and clawed back, including a three-run ninth inning, but eventually were eliminated by the Pioneers 8-6. Harford had the game winning run at the plate with two runners on base, but failed to continue the contest.
Potomac State won the Region XX Championship, defeating Anne Arundel 17-3.
