Box Score The Fighting Owls struck three times in the first half and cruised to a 4-2 win in a non-conference game against Louisburg.
Harford (5-3-1, 4-0-0) got goals from four different players to win easily.
Rachel Keeley, Brianna Worthington, Korey Carroll and
Christie Brown all hit the back of the net for the Fighting Owls while Larie Bailey and Catherina Borgstrom each scored once for the Hurricanes.
Keeley notched her second goal of the season on a free kick from distance. From about 30 yards out, Keeley's shot struck the cross bar and came down over the line and into the net to open the scoring in the third minute of the game.
Keeley was at the origin of the Fighting Owls second goal in the 27th minute as well. She took a free kick from a similar distance to her goal and hit the cross bar again. Luck wasn't on her side this time as the ball ricocheted into play.
Lorianne Hill corralled the rebound and took a quick shot from five yards. Her effort hit the left post and rolled across the face of goal where Worthington was on the spot to tap in to make it 2-0.
Carroll notched what ended up as the game-winner just before half time to make it 3-0. She received the ball on the right wing and slalomed her way through three Louisburg defenders inside the 18-yard box and finessed a shot off the inside of the far post for her first career goal.
Brown added the fourth and final goal for Harford after Louisburg was able to score in the opening minute of the second half. Brown deposited a loose-ball into the roof of the net in the 50th minute after Worthington's header was blocked on a corner kick.
Borgstrom made it 4-2 for Louisburg with 20 minutes to play but the Hurricanes were unable to mount a comeback because of some tight defending and excellent ball possession by Harford.
Harford goal keeper
Maggie Shifflett made eight saves on 10 shots in the game. Brown and Worthington each racked up their team-leading fifth goals of the season. Worthington and Hill were each credited with first assists of the season.
The Fighting Owls will have a quick turnaround as their next game is tomorrow at noon, when they play host to Cape Fear at Harford Stadium.
