BEL AIR, Md. - The first-place Harford volleyball team (11-1, 6-0 MD JUCO) remained undefeated with a four-set victory over CCBC Essex (6-6, 0-3 MD JUCO) on Tuesday. The Fighting Owls dropped the first set before storming back to beat the Knights for the second time this season.
Lauren Brown continued her sophomore season dominance with a 15-kill, four-error performance. She outshined the conference's leading hitter, Hannah Pinion, who totaled 13 kills but also had 14 errors.

Fabiana Della-Monica set Brown and the middle blocker came through in a big way. In the crucial third set, Brown had five kills, and with the scored tied at 23-23, she recorded back-to-back thunderous slams for the victory.
Della-Monica again paced the offensive attack with 30 assists on 40 kills. Harford won the attack battle 40-30 and hitting percentage clip, .139 to -.033. In the second set, when the Fighting Owls righted the ship, they totaled 12 kills against just two errors for a .370 hitting percentage.
Tiyana Bumbray chipped in with 11 kills while
Alicia Horton had a career-night with five kills and four blocks including three solos. Bumbray and
Victoria Karayinopulos shared the team lead with 13 digs.
The Fighting Owls travel to Monroe College for their weekend tounament on Saturday and Sunday, where they will face Nassau, Rhode Island, FIT and the host Mustangs. They return home on Oct. 3 for a rescheduled contest against CCBC Catonsville at 6 p.m.
