BEL AIR, Md. – The Women's Volleyball team swept Southern Maryland, 3-0, to keep pace in the MD JUCO standings.
Harford (17-7, 8-1 MD JUCO) breezed to another dominant conference victory, winning 25-20, 25-14, 25-18 to take the match in straight sets. The win keeps the Fighting Owls in second place in the conference standings and sets up a pivotal matchup with first place Frederick Thursday evening.
Tiyana Bumbray led the Fighting Owls with nine kills and nine digs in the contest.
Alexis Goldston and
Alicia Horton each had six kills. Goldston was Harford's most efficient attacker, leading the way with a .462 attack percentage followed by Horton with a .333 mark.
Morgan Tennant racked up 26 assists as well as four service aces.
Mariah Lemme had eight digs and notched an assist.
Braquelle Horton contributed seven digs and an assist in the win.
Harford will host first place Frederick Thursday evening at 6 p.m. The visiting Cougars come into the match with a spotless 8-0 record in MD JUCO matches.
