LARGO, Md. - The Harford men's basketball team dropped a crucial conference contest at Prince George's on Friday on a fadeaway buzzer-beating 3-pointer, 93-90.
The Fighting Owls trailed throughout the contest but spent the entire second half chipping away at PG's lead. With under a minute to play,
Jay Johnson collected a clutch rebound and made a free throw to bring the score to 90-88. After another PG miss, Johnson again corralled the carom and set Harford up for the tying shot with 24 seconds left.
In transition, Johnson found
Cedric Hines for the game-tying layup with 19 seconds left. Prince George's set up for the final shot, and Donnell Graham walked away with a fadeaway prayer that was answered for the 93-90 win.
Fadil Robinson scored 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting while pulling in six rebounds. Hines finished with 16 points while
Davonte Williams added 13. Johnson chipped in with 13 points and a team-best seven rebounds and five assists. Harford outrebounded the other Owls 38-22 while outshooting PG 56 percent to 51 percent from the floor.Â
