BEL AIR,Md- The Fighting Owls came out firing early and often as they were able to dominate the Montgomery Raptors in four sets. The victory improves Harford's record to 15-5 on the season and 7-1 in conference play.

Harford was able to feed off of the enthusiastic home crowd as they easily won the first 2 sets with both games being closed out on service aces by
Julia Gatch and
Jenna Hathazi respectively. Despite going down 9-8 in the first set, Harford went on a 17-4 run to clinch the first set. Montgomery jumped out to an early lead in the third set as they were able to force the match to a fourth set. However, the Fighting Owls won 8 of the first 10 points in the final set and were able to close out the match by a score of 25-14.

Gatch turned in one of her best performances of the season as she put down big hits all night long and finished with 10 kills. Harford's two middle hitters were fantastic against the Raptors as
Phoenix Offutt tallied 7 kills, 2 solo blocks, and assisted on 2 other blocks along with
Mary Snow who added 8 kills and 2 block assists.

The versatile Hathazi filled in as the setter and performed admirably as she assisted on 22 of the Fighting Owl kills. Libero
Rebekah Hanshaw made numerous diving plays in the back line and racked up 27 digs.
The Fighting Owls will host a tri-match on Thursday, October 6th as Essex and Potomac State will participate in three matches starting at 3 PM.Â
