HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first half was twenty minutes of struggle for the Fighting Owls as the Hawks seemed to have the ball bounce their way as they shot 5-9 from three-point range.
  • The end of the first half was a strange series of events as the Hawks had a chance to get the last shot of the half but scored a lay-up with seven seconds left. Trent Mccallum took the inbound pass and dribbled coast-to-coast and scored at the close of the half to cut the Hawks lead to three at the break.
  • Coming out of halftime, forward Micah Till took it upon himself to put the team on his back as he scored Harford's first 11 points of the second half to regain the lead for the Fighting Owls.
  • Dom Keyes got Harford's lead all the way up to seven as he scored on back-to-back possessions with a lay-up and a free throw off an offensive board.
  • After a Mychal Stefanides trey, the Hawks went on a 10-0 run to take a four point lead.
  • After a couple of questionable foul calls against the Fighting Owls, the Hawks shot free throws well to hold a five point lead with four minutes left in the game.
  • Malik Jones and Till both hit clutch long range shots to cut the lead to one, but a Hawks jumper gave Southern Maryland an 86-83 lead with just under two minutes left.
  • That was the last points CSM would score in the game as it was all Harford from there.
  • Aaron McDonald tied the game up with a three from the top of the key. McCallum followed that up with a shot that was hit from just inside the arc and Till capped off the frantic series with a fast break dunk that brought the house down.
  • The rest of the game was just a matter of free throws as Harford closed out the game with an 11-0 run.
