  • The Short Story: The Harford men's basketball team provided a much better performance in their second regular season game as they defeated Thomas Nelson 85-49.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Harford was able to come out firing early in the game with a 54-16 first half that allowed coach Mike Smelkinson to empty out his bench in the first half.
  • The first half was a dominating performance as Harford shot 53% from the field compared to the Gators at 15%.
  • With the Fighting Owls comfortably ahead for much of the game, the bench received a bunch of minutes leaving Micah Till as the leading scorer at 12 points. Fellow starter Isaiah White scored 10 while Malik Jones came off the bench to also score 10.
  • Juanir Moore had a solid performance with 8 points and 9 rebounds in just 13 minutes of play as another big man controlled the glass on both sides.
  • Speaking of big men, Dom Keyes was a monster in the paint, shooting 3-4 from the floor and swatting away 4 blocks. 
GAME NOTES
  • Harford never trailed in the contest, leading by as much as 52 in the contest. 
  • The Fighting Owls scored 52 points in the paint as they dominated with their size all night.
  • With 48 points from the bench, Harford showed off their impressive depth in the game. 
  • Harford celebrated military appreciation night with the Morgan State Marching Band in attendance to provide a fantastic atmosphere throughtout the night.
