  • The Short Story: The Harford men's basketball team was able to hold off a strong challenge from the other Owls in an 80-73 victory for the Fighting Owls.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Prince George's jumped out to an early lead, but Harford charged back and grabbed the lead for good 6 minutes into the game on an Aaron McDonald's layup. McDonald finished with 15 points thanks to a trio of three-pointers.
  • Micah Till also hit a few threes on his way to 20 points and 6 rebounds.
  • It was Trent McCallum who really stole the show as he scored 18 points along with 8 steals and 6 rebounds as he also hit three from long range as he played almost the entire game.
  • Dom Keyes dominated in the paint with 13 points and 11 rebounds as he accumulated his second double-double of the season.
  • Martin Kelly earned himself some solid playing time with his tough play and great defense as he was on the court for the last 11 minutes of the game.
GAME NOTES
  • Prince George's came into the game shooting 30% from behind the arc, but shot just 6-26 from long range as their best offensive weapon was not at its best.
  • Harford shot 38% from the field, just higher than the 37.5% from three-point range.
  • Prince George's forward Alex Morales came into the game averaging 12.0 rebounds per game, the best in the conference, and was able to continue his streak as he grabbed 11 in the game.
  • Harford leads the conference with 7.0 blocks per game; Prince George's is second with 6.0.
UP NEXT
  • The Fighting Owls will hop on the bus to Florida for a weekend of basketball to close out 2016.
  • Up first on the trip is #23 ranked Chipola in Marianna, Fl. on Friday, December 16th at 7 pm.
  • Chipola is 10-1 this season with their only loss coming against powerhouse Jones County.
