Box Score PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Harford Men's Basketball team were taken down by Harcum (28-4) in the NJCAA District 3 Championship, 86-66, Saturday afternoon.
Harcum, hosting the title game at Eastern University, got out of the gates quickly and built a 19-point lead going into halftime. Harford (21-11) were able to play the Bears evenly in the second half but could not cut into the deficit. Harcum clinched their spot in the NJCAA National Championships officially with the district win.
Cedric Hines led the Fighting Owls with 15 points.
Davonte Williams and
Aaron McDonald both cracked double figures with 12 and 11 points respectively.
Fadil Robinson led the team with 11 rebounds and a pair of blocks.
Despite the loss, Harford earned a spot in the national tournament as a zone qualifier with their win of the Region XX Championship. The Fighting Owls will find out their seed and who they will play on Monday as the bracket is scheduled to be released at 3:33 p.m. eastern. The tournament, to be played in Hutchinson, Kansas, will begin on March 14
th.
