BALTIMORE - The Harford tennis program travelled to face UMBC in the Retrievers final home match in program history over the weekend. The Fighting Owls dropped both matches against the NCAA Division I school on Sunday, as well as the home contest against ASA on Saturday.
UMBC 7, Harford 0
Men
Despite the fact that the team was swept, the Fighting Owls won the match at No. 3 doubles and kept it close at No. 3 singles and No. 6 singles. NCAA scoring counts doubles matches as one point, which differs from the NJCAA individual doubles point-scoring system.
Xavier Graells and
Tomas Eduardo Parra Pozo were victorious at No. 3 doubles, winning 6-3. Graells was also close in his singles match, falling at No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-7(4), 6-2. At No. 6 singles,
Alejandro Serrano Clarke won the first set but lost 3-6, 6-2, 10-7.

Women
Freshman
Sarah Hadjeras faced her toughest competition of the season and kept it close, falling 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles.
ASA 9, Harford 0
Men
The No. 21 Avengers knocked off No. 10 Harford on Saturday, sweeping the event. The Fighting Owls put up a fight in doubles but were defeated in straight sets in five of six singles matches.
Pablo Safont Ferrer and
Bradley Schug lost a close 9-7 match at No. 2 doubles. At No. 3 singles, Graells again played a tough match, eventually falling 6-1, 6-7(9), 10-4. Parra lost just his second match of the season. Safont and Clarke both lost their singles matches in straight sets, but forced their opponents to win in a tiebreaker in one of the two sets.
ASA 7, Harford 2
Women
The No. 8 Avengers defeated No. 25 Harford with the Fighting Owls receiving points via forfeit at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.
Hadjeras and
Julie Sibbesen lost at No. 1 doubles 8-1 and Hadjeras dropped just her second singles match of the season, 6-1, 6-1.
