LANCASTER, Pa. - The Harford men's tennis team rebounded from a pair of rare loses with two road victories. The Fighting Owls (14-3) defeated Mercer County, 8-1, on Tuesday and swept NCAA Division II's Millersville on Wednesday, 9-0.
Harford 8, Mercer County 1
The Fighting Owls dominated the Vikings from the jump, losing their lone match at No. 1 doubles in a tiebreak, 9-8 (4).
Renan Baldi won at No. 3 singles without dropping a game and
Flavio Carretero Garbati was victorious at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Xavier Graells and
Tomas Eduardo Parra Pozo earned an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles and
Pablo Safont Ferrer and
Diego Gumiero Salinas won at No. 2 doubles, 8-1.
Harford 9, Millersville 0
The Fighting Owls breezed through the DII school on the road without dropping a set.
Andrew Ryan teammed up with Parra for an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles and
Xavier Ulloa won at No. 6 singles, 6-4, 6-1.
Parra earned his 15th win at singles this year, the most on the team, dropping Tony Jadus, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2.
Bradley Schug won at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-1 for his ninth singles win of the season.
