  • The Short Story: The Fighting Owls won two of three matches in a one day marathon with wins against Beaver County and Penn State Dubois along with a loss against Lakeland.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Harford continued their arduous stretch of matches with a three match marathon in Beaver County, Penn.
  • The Fighting Owls first match went up against region 20 opponent Beaver County with Harford narrowly losing the first set before taking over and winning the next three sets in a row.
  • Julia Gatch led the way with 10 kills on just 17 attack attempts in one of her most efficient matches of the season.
  • Gatch once again led Harford in the second match with nine kills in what turned out to be a losing effort against Lakeland in the second match of the day.
  • In the night cap, Harford easily won the first set, dropped the second, then rallied to take the last two to finish out the day on a positive note.
  • Kyning Tillinghast and Savannah Meyers each had eight kills while Jenna Hathazi added 26 assists and 14 digs.
  • Meyers also led the team with four blocks and a couple of aces as Harford continues to work towards getting back to a .500 record.

UP NEXT
  • Harford will stay on friendly grounds as they host Chesapeake on Tuesday, October 10 starting at 4 PM.
  • The Skipjacks are 1-6 on the year and 1-5 in the conference with their lone win coming against Anne Arundel.
