  • The Short Story: The Harford men's basketball team dominated the first half on their way to a comfortable victory over a Division I rival. HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Allegany came into the game looking a dangerous team, having won seven of their last nine games.
  • The Fighting Owls were assessed a technical foul before the game started for an equipment malfunction, which the Trojans took advantage of with an early made free throw.
  • That wound up being the only time in the contest when the Trojans held a lead as Aaron McDonald scored on the first Harford possession and the Fighting Owls never trailed again.
  • In fact, Harford would go on a 10-0 run with baskets by Isaiah White and Micah Till to assert early dominance.
  • After Allegany cut the lead to just four, Harford went on a 15-0 run to give them a 27-8 lead midway through the first half.
  • Coming out of the halftime break with a 43-27 lead, Harford went on a 12-2 run with McDonald and Dom Keyes both scoring old-fashioned three point plays.
  • Ultimately, the game came down to Harford guard McDonald and White scoring at will and forwards Till and Keyes dominating the paint with each earning double-doubles.

GAME QUOTES AND NOTES:
  • Dom Keyes scored 13 points and pulled down 14 rebounds despite playing just 17 minutes while dealing with an illness. It was Keyes' second consecutive game with a double-double and his fourth of the season.
  • Micah Till scored 15 points along with 14 rebounds in his seventh double-double of the year.
  • Aaron McDonald scored the second most field goals in a game for a Harford player this year with 11; only Till made more with 13 against Southern Maryland.
  • The Fighting Owls swatted 10 shots in the game to tie their second most for a game this season; the highest was 14 against ASA back in mid-November.
  • Harford did rack up their most field goal attempts for a game all season with 83; four more than their previous high.

UP NEXT:
  • Harford will get to rest for awhile before traveling to Northern Virginia on Monday, February 13th at 8 pm in a warm-up game before the conference tournament.
  • The Nighthawks are 6-12 on the season at this moment, but are scheduled to face Montgomery and Garrett before hosting the Fighting Owls.
