MATCH 5 vs. SEWARD COUNTY

GAME NOTES
  • Best match was clearly #2 doubles team of Xavier Graells and Tomas Para against Eastern Florida. They took the lead and were up 7-4 and accumulated 11 match points but EFSC fought every one of them off until the Harford duo won the 12th match point to take the match 9-8 (7-5). Pablo Safont won in straight sets at #6 singles and was in control of the match the entire time. Bradley Schug played well and forced the second set to a tiebreaker but fell in a close one in a good first match.
  • Against Abraham Baldwin, best match was at #1 doubles with the pair of Schug and Safont taking an early lead 4-1 over the #9 team in the country including an All-American team from last year. ABAC fought back and in the end won the match 8-5, but Harford was a few big points away from pulling the upset. In singles, the same duo of Bradley Schug and Pablo Safont also played the most contested singles matches. Harford lost both matches but at #6 singles Pablo Safont forced his opponent to a tiebreaker in the first set and then fell in straight sets. Bradley Schug played a hard fought two set match at the #5 singles spot.
  • ASA Miami and Tyler Junior College played like NCAA Division I caliber teams. The Fighting Owls played well against them but fell 9-0 to both on the men's side. The #3 doubles team of Flavio Carretero and Oliver Kenward played a close match with Tyler, but lost a few big points and lost 8-5.
