Harford Scores Big Win Over Riverhawks

  • The Short Story: The Harford men's lacrosse team were put to the test and came up with a massive win against conference rivals Anne Arundel.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • A fast flowing first half saw the teams exchange blows with Anne Arundel scoring goals on the first two possessions of the game. 
  • Harford responded with a 6-0 streak with John Perry scoring a couple along with Kyle Barkley, Chase Oberlin, Brandon Johnston, and Nick Esser. 
  • The Riverhawks fought back with a 5-1 stretch to end the first half with the score tied at 7-7.
  • Andy Stump scored a goal at the start of the second half that was canceled out 40 seconds later.
  • After Barkley and Perry scored to give Harford a 10-8 lead, Anne Arundel scored a couple to tie the game at 10-10 with 12:40 left in the game.
  • With less than nine minutes remaining, Chase Oberlin took the ball from behind the net, flashed out in front and ripped a shot into the side netting to take the lead.
  • The Harford defense was able to shut out the Riverhawks over the last 12 and a half minutes to hold on for a critical conference victory.
