HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Harford came out hot as Chris Parrott won the first face of the game and took it down the field to and assisted John Perry for a Harford lead just seven seconds into the contest.
  • The rest of the match was a constant back and forth scoring competition between the Fighting Owls and the Knights
  • Harford took the lead again as Brandon Johnston and Chase Oberlin scored a pair of goals one after the other in the second quarter.
  • Essex responded quickly by scoring two more goals after a Perry one minute un-releasable penalty to tie with Harford 4-4 at Halftime.
  • Andy Stump made a huge impact out of the break for the Fighting Owls by putting three goals in the back of the net in the third quarter including two within 15 seconds of each other to take a 7-5 lead.
  • The biggest stretch moment of the game was in the early stages of the fourth quarter as Essex's Austin Evans picked up a two minute un-releasable penalty that gave Harford a golden opportunity to put the game away.
  • Harford was unable to score during that man-up time and the Knights scored immediately after the penalty ended to give Essex the momentum.
  • After the Knights took the lead with less than five minutes, Harford threw everything at the Essex goal but were unable to get the equalizer with a Luigi Ascenzi shot at the buzzer just missing the target.
  • Goalkeeper Jacob Laubner came up with 10 saves and Parrott won 13-19 face offs while the Harford defense led by Stephen Hill, Collin Beck, and Kevin Clapp were effective as a unit throughout the contest.

UP NEXT:
  • Harford will next host the Susquehanna JV team on Sunday, April 9 for a 12 PM game.
