HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Fighting Owls managed just one run in the first six innings on a Ryan Shinn single through the left side hole for a 1-0 lead in the third.
  • Cecil tied it up in the sixth for the only run Frankie Fraschetti gave up as he struck out eight in a brilliant performance.
  • Harford finally broke out in the seventh started by a couple of walks by Taner Forry and Tre Todd
  • Peyton Sorrels doubled on a laser beam over the right fielder's head to score Forry and put a couple of runners in scoring position.
  • With two outs, Luke Johnson came through with a clutch hit down the left field line to score a couple more runs to give Harford a 4-1 lead.
  • Harford got another two out rally going in the eighth inning when Forry was hit by a pitch and CJ Lopez singled up the middle.
  • That brought up Tre Todd who destroyed the ball over the left center field wall for a comfortable 7-1 lead.
  • For as good as Fraschetti was to start the game, the bullpen performance was even better as Tim Kranz, Will Reed and Reid Frazier combined to throw three shut out innings, giving up just one hit and one walk with six strikeouts.
  • Kranz improved to 6-0 on the year while Reed improved his stock as he was dominant in striking out the side in the eighth.
UP NEXT:
  • Harford will hit the road for a big contest as they take on Hagerstown for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 8 at 12 PM.
  • The Hawks are 23-7 on the year and 10-2 in conference play as they currently sit in second place.
