Delaware Tech Wins Five Set Shootout Over Harford

  • The Short Story: Harford lost a seesaw affair as the two teams exchanged sets all the way through with the Fighting Owls unable to pull out the five set thriller.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Despite a hard working performance from the ladies in blue, the Fighting Owls were unable to secure a victory against a strong Delaware Tech squad.
  • After losing the first set, Harford got a boost from Allie Hallameyer taking the libero role and coming up with an incredible 35 digs in the match.
  • The Harford defense was put to the test as Bethany Bishop had 19 digs and Jenna Hathazi added 18 while Savannah Meyers came up with a couple of critical blocks.
  • Kyning Tillinghast led the way for the Harford attack with 13 kills with Hathazi and Meyers close behind with 11 and 8 respectively.
  • Hathazi in particular stood out as she recorded a triple double with 22 assists, 18 digs, and 11 kills in the match.
UP NEXT
  • Harford will return home to face the vaunted College of Southern Maryland on Thursday, September 21 at 6 PM.
  • The Hawks are 8-1 on the season and 2-1 in conference play with their lone loss coming against Hagerstown in a shocking three set match.
