Bel Air, Md. – The Fighting Owls added another conference win to their 2018 resume, defeating the Anne Arundel Riverhawks 3-1 in Arnold.
With the win, Harford jumps to 12-9 overall and 6-3 in conference play. Anne Arundel falls to 5-9 (3-5 in Md Juco).
Set Summaries
Set 1: Harford 26-24
The Fighting Owls held a small lead through the early stages of the opening set, but the Riverhawks stormed back and forced a Harford timeout while ahead 18-16.
The ladies in blue looked much better out of the break and battled Anne Arundel to a 24-24 deadlock. A pair of Riverhawk errors would complete the comeback and give Harford the early advantage.
Set 2: Harford 25-20
Much like set one, Harford jumped out to an early lead only to see it dissipate at the hands of Anne Arundel.
Trailing 15-13, the Fighting Owls would go on an 11-1 run to take a 24-16 lead. The Riverhawks would close the gap the gap to four, but
Allie Hallameyer's kill ended the rally.
Set 3: Anne Arudnel 25-17
The Riverhawks would grab an early lead and did not look back, holding off several Harford runs to cut the Fighting Owls lead to 2-1.
Set 4: Harford 25-20
The two teams traded points early, but Harford would take eight of sets next 10 points to go ahead 21-13.
With their backs against the wall Anne Arundel stirred up one more rally and came close to taking over at 22-20. Harford would answer the bell once again, with
Kendall Henderson's kill punctuating the fourth set win and 3-1 match victory.

- The Fighting Owls have won seven out of their last nine matches, including four straight victories against Md Juco conference opposition.
- The win also secures Harford a fifth place finish in the conference, as the ladies in blue now own victories over all six teams below them in the standings.
- Leah Sanders, who currently sits fifth all-time with 534 career digs at Harford, led the team in digs with 14 on the night. The sophomore libero needs just nine digs to move to third place in the record books.
- Madison Scarpulla led the team in kills (7) and aces (3) while Faith Hill tallied 15 assists.

Harford returns to the friendly confines of the APGFCU Arena for a tri-match on October 13 with Rhode Island and Richard Bland. The first match is set for 10:30 a.m.
The Knights are 11-9 this season, but lost to Harford back in September. The Statesmen will come to Bel Air holding a 10-4 record.
