Bel Air, Md. – The Fighting Owls secured their third straight win in against conference foes, overcoming a tough test in the Garrett Lakers in four sets (25-17, 25-19, 24-26, 25-9).
With the win, Harford (11-9, 5-3 Md Juco) stays in contention for a top four finish in the conference. Garrett falls to 6-5 (3-5) and remains winless against Harford since 2008.
Game Summaries
Set 1: Harford 25-17
Harford and Garrett traded points through the opening stages of the first set, but Lakers would be forced to call time down 13-11.
Garrett earned four points out of the break only to see Harford score five of the next six after that, forcing the Lakers to use their second timeout down 18-15.
This time it was the ladies in blue who would come out of the stoppage firing, scoring seven of sets final nine points to earn the win.
Set 2: Harford 25-19
The Fighting Owls experienced déjà vu in set two, going ahead early only to allow Garrett to get close out of their timeout.
Harford yet again answered their opponents run with one of their own, forcing the Lakers to use both timeouts for the second straight set. The ladies in blue would turn away the tide, clinching the second set off
Madison Scarpulla's kill.
Set 3: Garrett 26-24
Harford seemed to be on their way to a straight set win, but Garrett proved to have one last run in them.
Down 19-14, the Lakers capitalized off Harford's errors and four kills of their own to steal away the third set from the Fighting Owls.
Set 4: Harford 25-9
The ladies in blue took out their frustration over the previous set out on the Lakers in the fourth, cruising past their conference rival to secure the match. The Fighting Owls closed out the game earning 10 of the final 11 points.

- Allison Hallameyer went off against Garrett, leading the team in digs (30) and aces (4) while tallying a career high four kills. Her 30 digs are the most that any Fighting Owl has earned this season.
- Not to be outdone, freshman Faith Hill also set her career high in assists with 27.
- Harford's 56 kills, 169 total attacks, 47 assists, and 86 digs are all season-high marks.
- The Fighting Owls now sits just one loss back of Frederick for fourth in the conference standings.
